Trip to Taipei - The Start Of An Awesome Adventure (Part 1)

Yeah, finally I am going to blog, and its gonna be about my trip to Taiwan (Taipei). The trip was like 2-3 months back, but it was the BEST OVERSEAS TRIP, so I have to blog about it. Got so much photos to share too. Though, I am sure I won't be able to blog exactly everything about the trip cause I won't be able recall everything right here right now. I will try my best to remember. The best memories are kept for myself anyways.

To start off, it was my first overseas trip with friends, like without any adults. Most of my friends were shocked cause my dad allowed me to go on this trip. Me, myself is also in total disbelief. Its like a dream come true, legit that's what it felt like. So after I got my dad's approval, I started to plan the trip with the friends I am going with. Well, they are Caroline, Cindy and Jia Hui. I know... 3 girls, but come on, it doesn't matter ok. I don't really see a problem here.

Anyways, we started planning about one month before the trip. Honestly, I wasn't the one who actually plan cause I was pretty clueless. The only thing I did was give suggestions or my opinions. Thankful to the 3 girls for planning this trip and making it such a great one. The reason why this trip even happen is cause of Caroline. On the night we head to the airport, it was her birthday. This is basically her birthday trip, this Taiwan trip is planned for her. All in all, I hope she have a lot of fun as its her birthday trip. Hopefully its her best birthday ever.

Group Photo before we head to Taiwan

Ok, so, ours was a midnight flight so we headed to the airport early in the night to celebrate Caroline's birthday first. It was a mini celebration but there's still a cake that was hand-made by the other girls. So sweet of them right, yeah I know. The only horrible thing that happen was that Caroline was having a fever. Of course, she hid it from her mum and still came for the trip. I am sure she was waiting so long for this day to arrive, how could she not come. Honestly, I would also go on the trip at all cost. I remember after we went into the departure hall, Caroline start to feel cold and more unwell. I was so damn worried about her. Its just the first day of the trip and we haven even reach Taiwan. I am also hoping that Caroline's mum won't ever see this post else Caroline is gonna get a good scolding.

Me waiting to board the plane

Anyways, finally we got to board the airplane. Oh and the airline we took was Jetstar. Its my first time taking Jetstar, and I would say its not that bad except the tiny leg space. It was a 4hours and 50minutes midnight flight so all of us tried to sleep on the plane. But, somehow none of us manage to have a proper sleep. There was a point of time which I manage to fall asleep but within a few minutes, some guy knock onto me and it woke me up. In case you are confuse, I'm seating at the most outer seat, which is why when people walk around, they can bump onto me. After that bump, I couldn't fall asleep anymore and I just keep turning my body from left to right, then right to left. I was trying all the pose I could think of but none of it was good enough for me to sleep. Worst thing is Caroline was sick so she really needed the sleep, but none of the girls could sleep on the plane either.

After the long hour of flight which felt like years, we finally reach Taoyuan International Airport. It felt so surreal. I still can't believe I am actually in Taiwan with my friends. As we walk along the airport, I was getting really excited. The temperature in Taiwan is around 24 degrees, so its not very cold there. We got our luggage then headed to the canteen in the airport to have our first meal in Taiwan.

Century egg porridge with pork or chicken (can't remember which)

Yeah, we had porridge for our first meal and also first breakfast in Taiwan. Honestly, its pretty delicious. We then bought 2 Taiwan sim cards with 4G data. Damn these are damn useful and is a necessity if you are not very familiar with Taiwan. We then took a bus from the airport to Taoyuan train station.

Waiting for our bus at the airport, also our first photo in Taiwan

The high speed rail at Taoyuan station

"The train is coming!!", but first, let me take a selfie.

From there, we have to take a high speed rail to Taipei Main Station. Then take another train line to Xinyi Anhe. We booked an Airbnb apartment at Xinyi Anhe. When we reach our apartment, we thought we could rest for awhile before we head to the next destination in our itinerary. Unfortunately, we couldn't check in yet as the previous user have yet to check out. The owner of the place then took care of our luggage while we start our adventure in Taiwan. First stop, XIMENDING. Our purpose of going there was for the Poop CafĂ©. Yeah, it sounds a bit of a turn off, but it was actually very interesting.

Ok, I will stop here first, I will continue on my next blog post. Sorry but I am actually quite busy cause of clinics and school. So I have to blog about the trip a little by a little. Hehehe. To be continued... -End of Blog-
